What are Pick and Place Robots?

Pick and place automation speeds up the process of picking up parts or items and placing them in other locations. Pick and place robots are commonly used in modern manufacturing environments. Pick and place robots handle repetitive tasks while freeing up human workers to focus on more complex work. Automating this process helps to increase production rates.

Featured in this video, multiple bottles are picked from a Dorner Conveyor using a Schunk gripper, and then placed into cardboard boxes below. As an industrial robot, the GP25 operates in an enclosed safety area. The GP Series is designed for fast-paced assembly, packaging, and general handling processes. The Yaskawa Motoman GP25 is perfect for pick & place applications with payloads less than 25 kg (55 lbs).

Neff Power's selection of Six-axis GP-series robots deliver optimal speed, accuracy and range of movement. The superior speed of this robot family is only matched by its nimble performance and simple, streamlined design. Most GP-series robots offer an IP67-rated wrist and IP54 body standard, with select models offering an XP (eXtra Protection) package that increases body protection ratings to IP65.

Benefits of Pick and Place Robots:

Faster Cycle Times:

  • Improved acceleration / deceleration control for all robot positions allows faster cycle times.
  • Increased axis speeds over previous generation.

Better Space Utilization:

  • Small footprint, slim-arm design widens work area, reducing overall space requirements.
  • Hollow arm structure eliminates cable interference.

Less Downtime:

  • Highest wrist allowable moment provides reliable payload handling.
  • Easy washdown cleaning in harsh or sanitary environments.
  • Single-cable connection for fast setup and simple maintenance.

Our Products:

The GP25 achieves high transfer capability with highest payload, speed and wrist allowable moment in its class. Ideal for high-volume handling and packaging applications. Reduced-interference design permits close proximity to other robots and process equipment.

The GP25-12 achieves the high transfer capability of the GP-Series robots for large parts with this extended-reach, space-efficient design. Ideal for use in high-density workcells with multiple robots working in close proximity.

The GP8 is deal for high-speed assembly and handling applications. the GP8 robot is fast and compact. Not only does this highly efficient robot offer the highest payload, fastest speed and highest wrist allowable moment in its class, but it can also be controlled by either the YRC1000 controller or the YRC1000micro controller.

The GP12 achieves high transfer capability with the extremely fast and efficient GP12 robot. Offering number-one payload, speed and wrist allowable moment in its class, this robot is controlled with the YRC1000 controller and can be programmed with the lightweight standard teach pendant or the easy-to-use touchscreen Smart Pendant.

Ideal for high-speed assembly and handling applications, the GP7 robot is fast, compact and efficient. Offering the highest payload, fastest speed and highest wrist allowable moment in its class, this robot is controlled with the YRC1000 controller and can be programmed with the lightweight standard teach pendant or the easy-to-use touchscreen Smart Pendant.
