All atmospheric air contains water vapor and as the air is compressed the water vapor gets compressed with it until the air reaches it's saturation point. At this stage the air can no longer hold the water vapor and is condensed into liquid water. This is where things can go bad if not properly managed.
Water in pneumatic lines can cause rust and remove lubrication causing parts to wear quicker. Corrosion can also cause instruments to display false readings which requires costly downtime to fix or replace parts. In cold weather environments and operations the water can freeze and cause control systems to fault. Removing moisture is a key process in pneumatic systems and that's why C&E loves Koganei's iB-Cyclone, water separator.
Pneumatic systems require more than just a water separator to function efficiently and that's where Koganei's FRZB tops the competition. C&E's pneumatic specialist Jeff Atkinson highlights the FRZB in the latest Drinking from a Distance event with Teri Shaub...
"The FRBZ is a cool and unique product. Everybody has a filter/regulator but I'm not aware of anyone else who has a filter/regulator/with water and fluid removal all in one compact unit."
