The Problem
One company that required assistance with improving their productivity was Gelco GmbH & Co. The fashion mail-order company needed modernization measures for trouble-free delivery. This could be done by upgrading their internal goods transportation system with RFID technology.
The Solution
As the company required a solution that would last in the long-run, a total overhaul was made by introducing the following components:
Networking was carried out via PROFINET, which was already being used in the plant, while data storage units were mounted successively.
The new automation system was implemented within two and a half days, and prevented any deliveries from being delayed. Primarily, the entire operation became trouble-free and productive since conversion, while the percentage of ordered articles shipping off to the correct location also improved.
