RFID technology makes inventory management and asset tracking smarter. RFID tags integrated in cable ties really unlock the potential of “Industry 4.0” projects.
If you didn’t have the chance to visit HellermannTyton at the 2017 Hannover industry fair and are interested in RFID tracking, here’s an overview of one of our highlights: RFID cable ties and RFID readers – ideal accessories for asset tracking and inventory management.
Cable ties are already everywhere in industrial applications. By adding RFID tags to them, HellermannTyton has produced a three-in-one product: a fastener, an identification carrier and a unique marker, all in one.
Simple to read with an RFID reader, the digital data on LF, HF and UHF RFID tags survive even when other markers become illegible or physically damaged.
Unlike a barcode you don’t need a direct line of sight to read an RFID cable tie. That makes them perfect for error-free identification processes such as inventory management, maintenance data for critical machine parts or tracking of expensive assets like tools using RFID tags.
Advantages of RFID cable ties versus barcodes at a glance:
► Truly unique identification number
► Contactless reading in any direction
► Data can be both read and written
► Reading not impeded by dirt
