Leuze Introduces the Next Generation of Sensors - PCC A GCG Company - WI Siemens Distributor

Written by PCC | Jul 30, 2015 10:36:04 AM

Leuze electronic announces the release of three new series of powerful, robust and economically priced sensors for standard sensing applications.  This trio of the 5 Series, 28 Series and 318B Series are more cost-efficient and offer many key advanced features – making them extremely attractive in today’s marketplace.  In addition, Leuze has taken it a step further by developing a wide variety of mounting options that make installing the sensor the easiest part of the application.  Incorporating new electronic, optical, and mechanical designs, these new sensors provide large operating ranges in throughbeam and polarized retroreflective sensing modes, as well as advanced features found in our more powerful series of optoelectronic sensors:

  • A2LS Active Ambient Light Suppression
  • brightVision® Large, homogeneous, highly visible light spot
  • Fiber reinforced housing with IP67 rating
  • Wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +60°C

5 Series
The 5 Series is perfect for space limited applications in packaging, assembly or transport systems.  The compact rectangular body (32.5mm x 13.6mm x 20.2mm) with integrated threaded metal sleeves provides quick and diverse installation options in very limited spaces.  Cable versions allow vertical or horizontal cable routing with the same sensor.

28 Series
The sensors of the 28 series offer robust detection in the roughest industrial environments, with two universal M18 threaded mounting options (front and bottom) using a single locking nut.  Two through holes with pockets for the fastening nuts provide a flexible screw mount option.

318B Series
The 318B Series offers a threaded M18 barrel style in axial or 90° optic variants.  The patented “omni-mount” process (included at no charge) uses an innovative mounting nut and compensation washer design to provide an industry first “fine adjustment” capability with a simple 21mm mounting hole.  An optional flush mount adapter is also available for low profile applications.
